Graham Hendrick leads an uneventful life. Then he meets Ann. They fall in love and Graham leaves his wife Barbara to live with Ann. One day he goes to the cinema and to his surprise sees his new wife Ann commit adultery in it. It turns out that Ann had a short career as an actress in B-movies, which she gave up a while ago. Graham is fascinated. But soon this fascination turns into a kind of obsession. And before too long the fascination becomes an obsessive jealousy. Graham's suspicion grows that Ann in reality had the same sort of relationships with men that she acted on the screen.
